What is a CPD
It stands for Continuing Professional Development. Professionals are constantly striving to gain new and accurate information in their field of work (Architecture, Medicine etc). There are numerous ways of gaining this information and knowledge, but it has been found that one of the best and most enjoyable ways of receiving this information is via seminars from specialists in specific fields. The format for CPD’s in the Architectural world is generally that a CPD is carried out at or around lunchtime. The specialist attends the offices or agreed location for the seminar and then provides a 30 to 40 minute presentation to the recipient on the specialist subject that has been requested.
During or at the end of the seminar questions can be asked relating to the seminar subject. These questions can be general, but are often related to a past or present issue on a project. Hopefully as the presenter is a specialist in the seminar subject they can answer the questions fully there and then.
Lunch is normally organized by the recipient of the seminar, but is paid for by the presenting company.
The CPD seminars that Fendor carries out are approved by The CPD Certification Service.
Fendor now has an area on their website that allows a CPD request to be made. The approved CPD’s available are: -
