Application: 60 minute integrity and 60 minute insulation fire screen to run full height of the stair and atrium.
Key issues:
As the fire screen is so tall and the FineLine glazing system is only fire tested to a 3 metre height, structural design and then fire assessment needed to take place. Structurally the screen is installed with structural transoms rather than the more traditional structural mullion design that most curtain walling adopts.
This allows each area of glazing to have its load transferred to the structure at each jamb and therefore designing out any issues of continual collapse in a fire situation.
